Our Story

Quinta do Passal

Joanna and Aran discovered Portgual five years ago when Aran, a documentary filmmaker, while on location. They immediately fell in love with the tranquility of Central Portugal and the warm hospitality of the Portuguese people.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Equidistant from the East coast of the USA where Joanna’s children live, and Isreal, home of Aran’s children, Portugal seemed to be the perfect place to start a new adventure. 

 

 

 

 

Driven by a collective passion and with the unwavering support of the benevolent people of Arega, Joanna and Aran undertook the monumental task of restoring this old ruin of farm to its former glory.

 

 

 

 

Aided by a remarkable team comprising Paulo, Carlos, Pedro, Gilam, Jose, Joan, and another Paulo and another Paulo, they embarked on a transformative journey, breathing new life into Quinta do Passal. Through tireless dedication spanning two arduous years, they witnessed the revival of its ancient splendor, each moment an exquisite symphony of shared joy and triumph.

 

 

 

 

 

Today, Joanna and Aran proudly extend an invitation to their loved ones, cherished friends, and esteemed guests, beckoning them to embrace the enchantment of Arega. Together, they can revel in the idyllic beauty of this remarkable village, as Quinta do Passal stands as a testament to the power of passion, perseverance, and the enduring bonds of community.
